Web apps are divided into 5 categories, namely:

1. Static Website

This is the least flexible web aka web app, because it can't be updated by admin via CMS. Even if there are adjustments to be made to the content in it, the developer who creates the website will have to overhaul the lines of code. So not just anyone can update the content on the page.

Example of a company profile that uses a static website - The most common example is its use in a company profile - Actually you can just use WordPress for Domain and Hosting purposes to display the website later. But yes, how to make it quite complicated.

You need to login first, choose a theme that matches the company's brand image, fill in your profile, create an attractive homepage, continue creating the page, then you will complete the 3 most important elements of the company profile: 'about us' , 'product information' and ' contact'.

2. Dynamic Website

As the name implies, in this category the contents of the website can change at any time. Because basically this dynamic website uses a database whose data and contents can always be updated every time a user accesses the platform.

In a dynamic website, the content in it can change every time the website is accessed. Examples such as Facebook.com, Twitter.com, Tumblr.com, or Soundcloud.com, all use this one category of web apps. In general, dynamic websites have a management panel (CMS) that allows administrators to update content, such as text, images, audio, and video, at any time.

3. Portal Site

Website portal that provides various sections, based on the category of content on each page - Not much different from the previous categories, this portal site is designed to provide content that presents information or news from various sources

Because these categories provide a variety of information, most usually also provide a specific section on the homepage, based on the content on each page. For example, on the topmost main page, there are other sections, such as 'Sports', which provides news about sports, and 'Entertainment', which provides information about the world of entertainment.

4. Animated & Interaction Websites

Animated websites have dynamic features that can make the eyes more comfortable and attractive - In this category, developers can incorporate animated elements into the content on the related websites, which can also enhance the user interaction experience. With more dynamic visuals, website content that you want to highlight can stand out more and spoil the eyes of visitors.

For example, if the website uses the Parallax Scrolling feature that can make it look more alive, as used in http://2011.beercamp.com, http://everylastdrop.co.uk, http://nizoapp. com, http://porschevolution.com/#1920s, and http://hobolobo.net. Not only in homepage, case studies, contact and product information, you can also use this in content.

5. CMS Website

Look at examples in Drupal, Joomla, or WordPress - actually not much different from dynamic websites. By using a CMS (Content Management System), administrators can more freely handle content on their own web. So, no need to bother or spend more to maintain a website. Because, in the creation, management, even changes that you want to make in a content on a related website can be made by your company's internal administrator.

How a CMS website works - in this category your website may not be able to stand out like on an animated website, or organize content segments according to theme like on a portal website.

Conclusion :

Those are some of the types or categories of web apps that exist, and you must have visited - of all the categories mentioned above, there is one thing in common, or at least they have, namely how the system works in general.

This web application stores various web information in the form of web or we pages, which then the page will be automatically stored on the web server computer - Meanwhile, each computer or device used by the user will act as a computer client: where the program functions to read web pages is on the web server or browser. And then, let your browser do its job of reading all the web pages that are on its web server.
